Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partners

Description:

Schools wanting to become members of the Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partnership Network have thought deeply about their goals for a partnership and are serious about becoming actively involved in cultivating their relationship(s).

Roles/Responsibilities:

eduWeavers facilitates the reflective process necessary for schools to achieve curricular and community goals through the school-to-school partnership model. Once schools become members of the Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partnership Network, they have various opportunities to enrich their students', teachers', and community's education through the actual partnership (via classroom-exchange projects, skype-conversations, email exchanges, eduWeavers' social-network exchanges, and travel), through eduWeavers-facilitated professional development, and through curriculum-building programs devised by eduWeavers and/or Business Partners specifically designed to take advantage of reciprocal learning opportunities and to foster the friendships and international cooperation envisioned by the eduWeavers' mission.

Current Status:

eduWeavers has currently accredited Saint Mark's school and its partner eSibonisweni Primary as Founding Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partners. eduWeavers has meetings scheduled with schools across the country over the next several months to determine which interested American schools are ready to make the commitment to our pilot program. eduWeavers met with over 25 interested rural and urban schools in South Africa in the summer of 2008 and continues to have discussions with these and other schools to determine which ones would be optimal, responsive participants in our pilot program.

"Founding" Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partners:

The first four to five American schools and their respective counterparts interested in being part of our initial pilot efforts to build school-to-school partnerships will be named Founding Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partners. They will be listed as such on our website and in all promotional material. Founding American schools will help develop the eduWeavers organization by paying an annual fee. The initial annual fee to enter the accreditation process and be accredited at the Colleague (initial) partnership level is $1,500. Please note that once the pilot phase is completed, schools that want to join the Accredited eduWeavers School-to-School Partnership Network will not receive their Colleague (initial) partnership level accreditation until they have reached certain milestones.
